Essex's Comprehensive Podiatry and Chiropody Service

 Welcome to The Footstop

Please read before attending your appointment

The New Normal

We are preparing the clinic to meet the highest standards of infection control to ensure we can provide you with safe podiatry treatments of the highest possible quality. As a practice we have stayed up to date with all policies and procedures which have informed the way in which we will be running the clinic, this will be the ‘New Normal’. We have created this document to provide some reassurance and to describe what measures have been put in place to keep you safe. We also have some expectations from you, our service users, to maintain the safest possible environment. It is imperative that you read all the information before you attend your appointment.

The New Running of the Clinic

Your appointments will be booked with a gap before you arrive which will allow the clinic to be cleaned and to minimise any contact with other visitors in the waiting room. The same gap will occur following your appointment. This will only work if everyone attends their appointment on time, lateness is not acceptable and please avoid being too early.

We have invested in the highest available quality of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and we will be wearing this during every appointment until further notice. We also have a new perspex screen that will act as a shield between us during your treatment.

Can I book an appointment?

We are now able to see all clients, so contact our reception team today and we can get you booked in.

Urgent and emergency appointments will be prioritised.

If you or any member of your household are suffering with symptoms related to the coronavirus please wait until your 14 day isolation period is over before booking an appointment.

What we expect from you:

  • To be patient with us and understand this is a strange time with new protocols. We are doing our best to catch up with 100’s of cancelled appointments, while transforming the clinic to be appropriate for this pandemic. We have also had to change the way the clinic is run based on the newest guidelines from the government; this is not an easy task so bear with us.

  • To arrive at your appointment on time. Time management for the clinic is more important than ever. If you are 10 minutes late, your appointment will be cancelled, and you will be invoiced the full appointment cost.

  • If you arrive early, please wait in your car until your appointment time.

  • If you have a mask, whether it is a homemade cloth mask, a dust mask, or a medical mask, we require that you to wear this to your appointments. If you do not have a mask, then this can be provided by the clinic but will incur a £1 surcharge to cover its cost.

  • If you or any members of your household display any symptoms of the Virus, please cancel your appointment and self-isolate. If you do not contact the clinic to cancel your appointment you will be invoiced for the full appointment cost.

  • To apply alcohol gel on your hands when you arrive and when you leave the clinic or if you would prefer to wash your hands.

What to expect from us:

  • To maintain the safest clinic environment with stringent cleaning protocols.

  • To minimise contact between you and other visitors.

  • To minimise contact between you and our staff.

  • To Keep up to date with guidelines that impact our practice.

  • To follow personal lockdown measures if any staff member starts displaying symptoms.

  • To keep the website page up to date with Covid-19 related matters that affect our clinic.

Tariff Changes

Our fees have not changed since January 2017 and were due to go up in April 2020. Unfortunately, the increased costs of PPE, the clinic adaptations, and the extension of appointment times by an extra 15 minutes has forced us to substantially raise our fees.

The increased appointment time is the main contributing factor, but it will allow appropriate time for the cleaning of the clinic and to avoid patient crossovers. If these requirements change in the future, we can hopefully look to reduce the fees again. We have not taken this decision lightly; this rise in fees will not cover the increased expenses but hopefully it will allow our small business to survive at this difficult time. Thank you for your understanding.

60 minute appointments: £100

30 minute appointments: £50

15 minute appointments: £33

Our thanks

We wanted to express tremendous and heartfelt gratitude to every one of our loyal customers. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Keep safe and positive. We are looking forward to resuming services and getting back to what we Podiatrists do best, treating your foot problems, keeping you mobile, comfortable and pain-free.

Best Wishes,

The Footstop Team

Running, we have all attempted it at some point, but do we all give it much thought? We throw on the only pair of trainers we own and hit the road, and that’s it right? For some of us yes, for others we end up with a sprained ankle, heel pain or knee injuries. With ma...
